Is taking a break something to be sad about

Is it like doing some homework and taking a nap then going back and finishing it later?

Or is it more like telling someone you’ll hang out with them, but neither of you text each other?

I hope that our break is like homework and just temporary

If you didn’t ever text me again i would be sad and confused

I thought we would be together forever, so hopefully forever will come soon
